Henry Lee's Rap Sheet for Dec. 16, 2015
(KTVU) - Here's the Rap Sheet for Dec. 16, 2015:
BURGLARY SUSPECTS NABBED: Redwood City police arrested three 18-year-old burglary suspects with the help of an alert citizen.
It all began about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday when a resident noticed a car he didn't recognize pulling up across the street from his neighbor's home.
The man saw a stranger get out and jump over his neighbor's fence, prompting him to call 911, said Redwood City police Lt. Sean Hart.
Officers flooded area and found the car in question parked on the 1200 block of Foothill Street and detained a man who was still inside.
Police set up a perimeter and found a broken rear window at the home where the resident had seen the other man jumping over the fence. They also found the home ransacked, Hart said.
Officers found the two suspects hiding in the backyard of a home on Fernside Street, a block away.
"A loaded handgun was located in the area where they were hiding,' Hart said.
Tyson Garcia of Mountain View, Keanu Otero Tejada of East Palo Alto and Gianni Monterrosa of Hayward were each booked at San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary and conspiracy. Garcia and Tejada were also booked on outstanding probation violation warrants.
WARMING UP YOUR CAR? STAY IN IT: The owner of a Lincoln Navigator was without the SUV for two days after leaving it unattended while warming it up in Livermore.
The incident happened about 8:30 a.m. Friday on the 800 block of Alexander Street.
The owner was warming up the SUV and "left it momentarily unattended with the keys in the ignition," police said.
Surveillance video later revealed that a woman driving a white sedan had circled the block twice. The sedan parked across the street from the Lincoln, and a man got out of the passenger seat, hopped into the Navigator and took off.
The stolen SUV was found two days later in Concord. No arrests have been reported.
Police say leaving cars unattended, even for a short moment, can lead to theft -- and worse. There have been cases in which parents or guardians have briefly left their warming-up vehicles -- with children inside -- before hopping into stores or returning to the house to retrieve forgotten items. They return, only to find the car (and, sometimes, the children) gone.
KNOW THIS BIKE THIEF?: Pleasanton police say this man walked into an open garage and pedaled away with someone else's bike.
