Officials give update on In-N-Out shooting in Twin Falls, Idaho
On Saturday, Idaho officials held a media briefing to provide the latest update following a deadly shooting at an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho. Police confirmed there were multiple fatalities but have not released the total number of deaths.
Multiple people were killed and several more injured in a shooting at an Idaho fast-food restaurant.
What we know:
The shooting happened at an In-N-Out Burger located near a busy shopping center in Twin Falls. The shooter is one of the dead, Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks confirmed.
Investigators have begun interviewing witnesses. Police have closed nearby roads and are asking people to avoid the area.
Twin Falls County Commissioner Brent Reinke said he learned of the shooting around 4 p.m.

The number of people who have died or were injured in the shooting has not been released at this time.
Prior to the news conference, Reinke said Sheriff Jack Johnson told him there were five people hurt. It is unclear if that number includes those who died.
Police said they were still trying to identify the shooter and determine a motive.

Local perspective:
A witness, Lane Koehn, told The Associated Press he was at a stoplight and saw a person with an AR-style rifle come out of the drive-thru. Koehn, 34, said he also saw someone with a pistol fire at the shooter. He saw a woman in an In-N-Out Burger uniform being dragged out of the restaurant by someone who was also wearing a uniform.
The employee and the person with the pistol waited with the woman until paramedics arrived, Koehn continued, adding, "She was pretty bad off, but I don’t know. I hope she makes it."
