Interim Vallejo police chief to step down after less than 16 months

Interim Vallejo police chief Jason Ta expected to resign and take a job in Salinas, Open Vallejo reports.

VALLEJO, Calif. - Interim Vallejo Police Chief Jason Ta is expected to resign.

Ta will step down after less than 16 months in the position, according to Open Vallejo.

The news organization reports he will take a job as the Salinas police chief.

Ta took over when Shawny Williams resigned in 2022.

Efforts to reach the Vallejo Police Department have so far been unsuccessful.
