Klay Thompson announced on Oct. 20 that he would donate $1,000 per point scored at his next three home games. By the end of Sunday’s matchup with the Pistons, Thompson totaled 69 points, making his donation $69,000.

But his cause has generated far more. Before the game Sunday he said that 1,100 people have joined in on the pledge called “Points with Purpose.” By 10:00 p.m. Sunday, the estimated amount raised was $304,185 of the $350,000 goal.

The figure is calculated using an estimated point total, which was set at 62 points. So with 69, the amount raised will be closer towards the goal.
