Man injured in Rohnert Park crash, DUI suspected
ROHNERT PARK, Calif. (BCN) - A man suspected of driving while drunk was hospitalized early Sunday morning after he crashed his car into a tree in Rohnert Park.
Around 3:45 a.m., officers with the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety saw a white BMW speeding on Country Club Drive at Rohnert Park Expressway, according to RPDPS officials.
When the officer turned onto Country Club Drive, the officer saw the car lose control and cross onto the opposite lanes of traffic, before striking a tree, RPDPS officials said.
The impact caused the car to then spin around and crash into a concrete brick retaining wall in front of a home.
Although the vehicle sustained major damage, the driver was able to exit the car on his own, according to RPDPS officials.
He was identified as 33-year-old Jose Duenas of Rohnert Park.
Duenas was taken to a hospital, where he was cited on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
