Man victimizes neighboring San Jose homes

This man stole a package at one home, broke into a second home and stole a car, San Jose police say.

Here's the Rap Sheet for Jan. 18, 2016:

ANOTHER SAN JOSE BURGLAR SOUGHT: Police are seeking the public's help for a man who helped himself to property from two San Jose homes next door to each other.

The incident happened at two neighboring residences on Muller Place between 10:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.

The man, who was captured on surveillance video, stole a package from the front porch of a home before moving away from camera view. He then returns wearing the same clothing, but without his backpack -- and with a bandana covering his face.

The man then burglarizes a second home next door before stealing a car belonging to that home.

The burglar is described as 20 to 30 years old, with a thin to medium build, light to medium complexion with short dark hair.  He was last seen with a black backpack, dark sunglasses, a dark bandana around his neck, a multi-colored scarf also around his neck, and wearing a white long sleeve shirt, black jacket (with possible hood), green camouflage pants and black/red/white shoes.

You can see surveillance video of the man here.

Anyone with information is asked to contact San Jose police Detective Sergeant Mike Montonye at (408) 277-4401.

SANTA ROSA GAS STATION ROBBED: Two masked men robbed a Santa Rosa gas station at gunpoint early today.

The holdup happened at the Valero gas station at 4501 Sonoma Highway at 3:12 am.

Two men with masks on went into the gas-station store, and one of them pointed a handgun at a clerk before ordering him to hand over money from the cash register, police said. The clerk complied, and the men fled on foot toward the Mission Car Wash.
