Police on Tuesday continued their search for the suspect wanted in the murder of a 16-year-old boy on Monday.

Officers responded to shots fired near Taco Bell at 985 E. Stanley Boulevard and found the teenage victim with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

He was transported to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Investigators said an argument between the victim and the suspect, who's been identified as 21-year-old Jorge Luis Tellez of Livermore, is what led up to the shooting.

During the altercation, Tellez pulled out a gun and shot the teen before fleeing the scene, police said.

Officials obtained a warrant to search Tellez's residence early Tuesday morning in an attempt to arrest him, but he was not there.

Police say Tellez is wanted for murder and is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees him should contact Livermore police immediately.

Livermore Valley Unified School District confirmed the victim was a student at one its high schools but didn't release his name. However, friends identified the victim to KTVU as Emmanuel Moseby.
