The Marin County search and rescue teams that entered Yosemite last week in search of a missing hiker from Oakland battled tough winter conditions.

Nine teams from across the state gathered at the national park to search for Alan Chow.

Some of the teams had to hike as far as 10 miles in winter storm conditions as they looked for Chow in the wilderness above Hetch-Hetchy.

The Marin teams spent the night out in the falling snow. They said the search was challenging but rewarding because Chow was found alive and well.
