Neighbors help rescue a San Jose family in a burning home
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - Neighbors helped rescue a family from a house fire in San Jose late Tuesday night.
An emergency call was made at 11 p.m., about the blaze on the 1600 block of Hillsdale Avenue.
Firefighters were told that four people were trapped inside.
Flames started from the garage, and had spread to the main house.
But a couple of neighbors were the first people to notice the fire.
They hopped the fence into the home, and helped elderly residents from the burning house.
By the time firefighters arrived on scene, three residents had made their way out of the home.
Fire crews were able to help bring out the fourth person.
It took firefighters 80 minutes to knock the fire down.
There were no injuries.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
Firefighters say they will have a better chance to figure out what caused the fire, when they get a closer look at daylight.
