Oakland police chase vehicle, pursuit ends on I-580 in Castro Valley: CHP

Traffic was backed up for miles in Castro Valley on Thursday for some sort of police activity on the highway.

A California Highway Patrol spokesperson told KTVU that Oakland police were in pursuit of a vehicle, when the chase ended on westbound Interstate Highway 580 at Eden Canyon road sometime about 10:30 a.m.

Oakland police were serving criminal warrants earlier on Thursday throughout the city and neighboring areas. Spokeswoman Johnna Watson confirmed the police activity on I-580 was related, but didn't immediately say more.
