PG&E: Thousands across Bay Area without power

Almost 19,000 customers in Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek and Concord were without power for much of Wednesday morning, PG&E reported. And outages spread throughout the Bay Area as the day progressed.

PG&E's website said the outage was reported shortly before 9 a.m.

By 4:30 p.m., the majority of customers experiencing outages had their power restored. But 5,370 customers remained without power, including 3,530 in the East Bay and 1,170 on the Peninsula.

PG&E is investigating the cause. Check the utility's website for updates.
