Police activity shuts down westbound I-80 near Carquinez Bridge
CROCKETT, Calif. - A portion of Interstate 80 near the Carquinez Bridge was shut down Monday night due to police activity, authorities said.
The California Highway Patrol-Solano closed the westbound side of the highway around 6:07 p.m. while officers responded to an incident. There is a person reportedly in crisis, possibly with a weapon.
CHP said traffic is being diverted off at Maritime Academy Drive. For an alternative route, you can use eastbound I-780 to southbound 680 (Benicia Bridge) and then back on at westbound 880. The incident was still ongoing as of 8:35 p.m.
