Police: Mother, 2 young children pepper sprayed in San Jose

San Jose police are looking for a woman who pepper sprayed a mother and two young children at a 7-Eleven.

Officer Gina Tepoorten said the mother said she went to the store on Monterey Road about 11 p.m. Sunday with her kids when a woman she knows "physically assaulted her" and pepper sprayed her.

It appears as though the spray reached her children who were seated in the car, police said.

The family was evaluated at the scene but didn't need any further medical attention, police said.

The woman and the mother know each other, but no further details were released.
