Rain, strong wind moves into the Bay Area
(KTVU/BCN) - A storm is bringing rain to the Bay Area and snow to the Sierra Nevada.
According to KTVU meteorologist Rosemary Orozco, the rain will be moderate to heavy at times.
KTVU meteorologist Bill Martin tweeted this photo of flooding in Daly City Sunday morning.
The storm is also bringing strong winds. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the San Francisco Bay Area in effect through Sunday night.
There are reports of downed trees and power lines in several Bay Area cities.
The storm is also causing some problems on the roads. The CHP has responded to several crashes across the Bay Area.
Driving, especially vehicles that have a high profile, could be more difficult in high winds.
A Wind Advisory is issued when wind gusts of at least 45 mph are expected.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect in the Sierra until Monday morning. The area could pick up 1 to 2 feet of fresh snow at the highest elevations.
