San Francisco Chronicle editor tells staff not to participate in women's march

The editor in chief at the San Francisco Chronicle has told her staff in a memo that they should not participate in Saturday's Women's March in Oakland, San Francisco, and San Jose.

According to the UC Berkeley Alumni Magazine, Chronicle Editor Audrey Cooper said, "No newsroom employee, regardless of job function or title, can participate in political demonstrations of any sort."

She said such actions violate ethical professional conduct.
