San Francisco's Glide memorial church welcomes all for Easter celebration

Songs from the Glide ensemble and the Change band echoed through the sanctuary of Glide Memorial Church on Easter Sunday.

The uplifting and inspirational sounds were a huge part of the celebration. Music could be heard all the way out on the street in San Francisco's tenderloin.

Kaye Foster, the chair of the board of trustees, says everyone is invited through Glide's door. Glide has been serving the Tenderloin community for more than 50 years and offering a place of solace for many in underserved communities, including the homeless.

"We want to create and continue to provide a place of hope, a place of radical inclusion and a place of unconditional love," said Foster.

Organizers expected about 2,000 people to come through this Easter. Easter events included a sunrise service and Easter brunch with fried chicken as the main course.
