San Pablo police identified a female suspect who escaped police custody Friday night.

Nakiya Laverne Huthcherson, 27, was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, white t-shirt and black pants. She's described as 5'7" and 120 lbs.

Hutcherson is said to have used her sister's name, Nyilah, to avoid prosecution.

Friday at around 7:10 p.m. Hutcherson was being taken to the Martinez Detention Center by San Pablo police, but she escaped and ran from the driveway.

Due to the non-violent nature of the suspect's original crimes, the search was initially called off after a few hours.

Hutcherson was originally in custody for misdemeanor vandalism and trespassing charges.

Multiple law enforcement agencies; including Martinez police and Contra Costa County Sheriff's personnel were involved in the search in Martinez after the suspect escaped.
