San Pablo police ID woman who escaped custody in cuffs
MARTINEZ, Calf. (BCN) - San Pablo police identified a female suspect who escaped police custody Friday night.
Nakiya Laverne Huthcherson, 27, was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, white t-shirt and black pants. She's described as 5'7" and 120 lbs.
Hutcherson is said to have used her sister's name, Nyilah, to avoid prosecution.
Friday at around 7:10 p.m. Hutcherson was being taken to the Martinez Detention Center by San Pablo police, but she escaped and ran from the driveway.
Due to the non-violent nature of the suspect's original crimes, the search was initially called off after a few hours.
Hutcherson was originally in custody for misdemeanor vandalism and trespassing charges.
Multiple law enforcement agencies; including Martinez police and Contra Costa County Sheriff's personnel were involved in the search in Martinez after the suspect escaped.
