San Ramon police dog battles cancer
SAN RAMON, Calif. (KTVU) - A San Ramon Police Department K-9 named Hector is battling cancer.
According to the police department, Hector is set to start chemo and they are hoping he will be cancer free after five rounds.
One woman posted on San Ramon Police Department's Facebook page, "I met Hector when he came to a Cub Scouts Pack 997 meeting last fall. He entertained the Cub Scouts by showing them his keen sense of smell by finding hidden objects in the gym. The kids loved him and asked many questions about how many bad guys he caught. I recall he only understood his commands in German and is a fairly young dog. I wish him good health and strength through his chemotherapy. He has many more years ahead of him."
While others left encouraging messages for Hector and his handler.
