SFPD ask for help to find 93 year-old man missing since Wednesday

Gilberto Fernandez, a San Francisco resident, was last seen Wednesday around 7 a.m. at a home in the 500 block of Head Street, according to police. 

Police are asking for the public's help in finding a 93-year-old man missing since Wednesday from San Francisco.

Gilberto Fernandez, a San Francisco resident, was last seen Wednesday around 7 a.m. at a home in the 500 block of Head Street, according to police.

His daughter reported him missing later that day.

Fernandez does not have any medical issues and he has never gone missing before, police said.

He's known to frequent the area around 24th and Mission streets to collect recycling.

Fernandez is described as an elderly Hispanic man, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds and with gray hair and a gray mustache.

He was last seen wearing beige track pants, a black and green jacket and cowboy boots, according to police.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the SFPD tip line at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 with SFPD in the beginning of the message. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
