Small Berkeley blaze causes temporary evacuation
BERKLEY, Calif. Gemma Guerrazzi/KTVU) - A small 2-alarm fire broke out early Friday morning in North Berkeley.
A garage in the 1300 Block of Arch Street near Spruce Street caught fire around 4:40 a.m., police said. Residents were told to evacuate and move to the 2300 block of Rose Street for safety. It was a short evacuation as residents were being allowed back into the area within 15 minutes as conditions permitted but were advised to keep their windows shut because of the smoke.
No injuries were reported.
