A car intentionally rammed a San Jose Police patrol car early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

According to police, someone in a stolen vehicle went around a corner at Wooster Avenue, near East Julian Street and North 27th Street, and struck the patrol car, with an officer inside, at about midnight.

Authorities said the car then rammed the police car again.

The officer however, was not hurt.

Two officers on the street, then fired at the suspect.

The suspect was able to drive off, but police located the vehicle unoccupied about a half mile away.

They later found a person who they say may be the suspect.

He was taken into custody on a past warrant, "pending further investigation," said Lt. Greg Lombardo, San Jose Police Department.

Investigators were interviewing him, to determine if he was involved in the police crash.

A police dog helped tracked down the individual.

While the officer in the patrol car was not hurt, he was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The two officers who opened fire were not injured either.
