Taylor Swift donates $50K to Ariz. girl with Leukemia
(KSAZ) -- An Arizona girl fighting Leukemia just got a huge surprise from one of her favorite pop stars, Taylor Swift.
According to a Facebook post by the father of Naomi Oakes, it all started after they noticed excessive bruises on her legs and torso.
After examining Naomi's blood work, doctors told her family to bring her to Cardon Children's Hospital. It was there that they learned Naomi has Acute Myelogenous Leukemia.
Naomi's father writes that this type of Leukemia is "more aggressive than other kinds and will require 6-9 mo of intensive therapy in the hospital."
During her battle, Naomi ironically made Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" her fight song. After being told she could not leave the hospital for at least six months, Naomi realized she wouldn't be able to attend Taylor's concert in August.
She made a video on YouTube to try to get Taylor's attention--and it worked!
Soon afterward, a donation of $50,000 from Taylor Swift was uploaded to Naomi's GoFundMe page.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Naomi for a quick recovery.
