Uber asks drivers to sign agreement banning them from joining class-action lawsuits

SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - San Francisco-based Uber is asking all of its drivers to sign a legal agreement, banning them from joining class action lawsuits against the company.
The ride service sent the 21-page document to drivers nationwide yesterday.
The new agreement requires drivers to enter into arbitration.
Critics are questioning the timing of the agreement.
It comes just two days after a Federal Judge's ruling that expanded the class of California drivers that can take part in a class action suit against Uber.
