Vegetation fire burns 80 acres near I-680 in Solano County

12:30 p.m. UPDATE: Cal Fire reports the size of the fire has grown to 80 acres. There is no word on containment.

11:50 a.m. UPDATE: According to officials, the size of the fire is six acres. No information is available on containment. No structures are involved and no one has been reported to be injured. 

A vegetation fire that started on the right shoulder of southbound I-680 in Benicia is spreading west, causing road closures on Lopes Road.

According to CHP officer Dave Harvey, the fire began just after 10 a.m. in the area just west of Marshview Road.

Fire and smoke are not impacting the freeway.

As of 11:10 a.m., Benicia, Fairfield and Cal Fire have crews at the scene.
