VIDEO: Woman falls off horse down trail, saved in dramatic air rescue

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, Calif. (BCN) - A woman who fell from a horse on a trail in Mount Diablo State Park was rescued this afternoon with assistance from a California Highway Patrol helicopter.
The search and rescue effort took place on the Dusty Road Trail near the Wall Point Road Fire Trail.
Helicopter H-30, along with San Ramon Fire District personnel, arrived at the scene after the emergency request was made at 12:15 p.m.
The chopper was approximately 75 feet over the scene when it lowered a CHP flight officer paramedic for assistance.
The woman was placed on a rescue device and was flown about two miles away to a waiting San Ramon Valley Fire ambulance.
The woman was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries and is expected to recover.
