VTA operator attacked in Sunnyvale

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - A Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority operator was assaulted Monday night in Sunnyvale, according to a spokesperson for the agency.

The assault occurred at the Lockheed Martin Transit Center. 

VTA spokesperson Marina Chakmakjian said he was taken to the hospital and has since been released. 

She said the suspect was taken into custody.

No further details were released.
