80-acre fire near I-580 in Livermore fully contained

A car fire on eastbound Interstate 580 in Livermore ignited vegetation and was spread by the wind to 40 acres Saturday night, the Alameda County Fire Department said.

The fire, near North Flynn Road and Carroll Road, was reported at 6:58 p.m.

The fire grew to 80 acres overnight and was fully contained around 7 a.m. Sunday morning, CalFire announced

Vegetation fire 80% contained near community of Briones

A vegetation fire was threatening structures Saturday afternoon near the unincorporated Contra Costa County community of Briones, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.

CalFire was called in to help with the blaze, the fire department said.
