Woman fatally shot in SF Outer Sunset, suspect found dead after manhunt

SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU/BCN) - San Francisco Police Department Officer Grace Gatpandan tweeted Friday night that a man police were seeking for the shooting death of a woman earlier in the day has been located. 

KTVU has learned the suspect was found dead in an apparent suicide. 

The tweet went out at 10:11 p.m. A tweet and Nixle alert just one minute earlier by the city's Department of Emergency Management said to avoid the area of Lincoln and 47th and Lincoln in San Francisco's Sunset District due to police activity.

Police responded to a call of a reported shooting on the 1800 block of 34th Avenue near Noriega Street at 4:37 p.m. in the Outer Sunset neighborhood.

A 65-year-old woman was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to police. 

Responding officers tried to provide aid to the woman, however, she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Relatives told KTVU off camera that the woman was in town for a funeral and alleged that her ex-husband track her down and killed her. 

Police were initially unable to locate the suspect and a six hour manhunt ensued. The suspect has been identified as 67-year-old Winston Hue. Hue is described as an Asian man with black hair, brown eyes, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds, according to police.

"We can confirm they are known to each other," Officer Gatpandan said. "He does have ties to the Bay Area." 

Police believe he may be driving a blue Kia Sol with the California license plate 5BJY341. Police said Hue also had ties to the Reno area. Officials there were on alert as well. 

Anyone who sees Hue is urged to stay call 911 immediately and refrain from approaching him, as he may be armed.
