Patriots, Seahawks arrive at SJC

The Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots arrived at San Jose Mineta International Airport on Sunday afternoon ahead of next weeks Super Bowl at Levis Stadium.

The Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots arrived at San Jose Mineta International Airport on Sunday afternoon ahead of next week's Super Bowl XL game at Levi's Stadium.

Patriots arrive

The Patriots touched down in San Jose around 4:00 p.m. That team has its own private jet, wrapped in the Patriots colors and logo.

About 200 players, coaches and support staff deplaned and quickly boarded buses, which whisked them away to their hotel in Santa Clara.

This will mark the 12th Super Bowl for the Patriots – they've won six, and are hoping to make this number seven. But the team hasn't been in the Super Bowl since 2019, when quarterback Tom Brady and former head coach Bill Belichick were still with the team.

Seahawks arrive

Just about 90 minutes after the Patriots arrived, the Seahawks, plane touched down around 5:30 p.m.

The Hawks do not have their own plane; instead they chartered a 747 jet for their approximately two-hour trip to San Jose. Their buses were on the tarmac, ready to bring the Seahawks to their hotel in Downtown San Jose.

This will be the fourth Super Bowl appearance for the Seahawks, but they've only won once. Notably, their last appearance was in 2015, when their opponent was none other than the Patriots, who defeated them.

Fans arrive

Along with the teams themselves, many Seahawks and Patriots fans lucky enough to snag tickets to the Super Bowl also arrived at SJC Sunday afternoon.

"I told myself the whole season, if the Patriots somehow make it to the playoffs, I have to buy a ticket. I don't care what I have to do, I have to buy a ticket. And right when they made it that was the first thing I did. I pulled out my phone and got the ticket. And here I am," said Michelle Bui, a Patriots fan. "I feel good. I feel confident, but I also don't like to jinx things."

"It's incredible. We've been waiting 10 long years for it, and it's going to be vengeance against our old nemesis down here in San Francisco," said Jack Dellinger, a Seahawks fan. "I'm excited. Great redemption story. Wouldn't have it any other way."

"I think it's a perfect storm. We have a perfect team. Our defense is unbelievable. I think we can do this," said Elise Robinson, who was voted the 2025 Seahawks fan of the year. "And it was in the 49ers stadium, so I'm really loving it now."

Big picture view:

Super Bowl LX marks the second time the big game has been held at Levi’s Stadium.

In 2016, Levi’s was the backdrop of Super Bowl 50, between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers.

An estimated 90,000 visitors are expected to visit the Bay Area during Super Bowl Week, according to the Bay Area Host Committee.

Tickets for the match are still available, though as of the past week, the cheapest resale ticket prices were just over $6,000.

Kickoff  for Super Bowl LX is on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. The stadium center opens at 11 a.m.
