The Bay Area started to dry out Wednesday night, after a couple days of rainy weather that left behind flooding in some spots. In Oakland, people are fed up over one stretch of freeway that seems to flood every time a decent amount of rain moves through.

The rain will be moving out of the Bay Area Thursday.  We are expecting partly sunny skies.  Highs should range from the upper 50s to the low 60s. The weekend starts off dry.  Our next storm will boost rain chances by Sunday.  Moderate to heavy rain will highlight our forecast early next week.

Sierra snow: Winter weather makes comeback ahead of holiday weekend

After more than a month without measurable rainfall, wet weather has returned to parts of Northern California, bringing drizzle, heavier rain showers and fresh snow to the Sierra Nevada.

It's been an exceptionally sunny February, so far. That's expected to end Tuesday by noon, when there are expected scattered showers, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm door is about to open.  Our next system is developing offshore and will move into the Bay Area Tuesday afternoon. The Tuesday morning forecast features mostly cloudy skies.  Rain chances will be increasing by mid to late morning.  We are expecting a good soaking later in the day.  The chance of thunderstorms has been to the forecast.  Wind gusts could approach 45 mph. The wet, unsettled pattern will remain in place through Wednesday.  Another storm could impact your weekend plans.
