Afghan girl born on evacuation flight named for plane

The Afghan girl born on a C-17 military aircraft during an evacuation flight from Afghanistan will forever carry that experience with her. Her parents have named her after the plane's call sign.

Bay Area organizations, universities ramp up efforts to bring Afghan refugees to U.S.

A network of more than 15 colleges and universities have connected with San Jose State University's Human Rights Institute to sponsor Afghan scholars, academics, activists, and journalists and bring them to teach at universities in the United States. Jewish Family and Community Services East Bay is also ramping up efforts to support Afghan refugee resettlement.
