Case dismissed after man arrested for stealing packages from San Francisco homes

A Marin County man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of stealing home-delivered packages, the Marin County Sheriff's Office said.
A Sheriff's Office investigation determined that Alexander Reza-Hassan Sada, a tenant of a home on Appleberry Lane in Lucas Valley, had been driving into San Francisco to steal the packages, according to a news release.
Reza-Hassan Sada, 40, was booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of possessing stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies went to the home around 10:30 a.m. to check on the welfare and living conditions of a resident and found numerous boxes from Amazon with routing labels removed, both outside and inside the residence, according to Lt. Steve de la O.
After applying for a search warrant to search the suspect's rooms, de la O said, deputies found several more packages, some with labels and many without containing possible stolen property.
They also found suspected heroin and suspected cocaine in one of the bedrooms.
The packages with legible labels were addressed to San Francisco residences.
The tenant whose welfare deputies initially had been called to check was found to be OK and not involved in the suspected criminal activity connected to Reza-Hassan Sada.
