WOMAN PUSHING STROLLER BREAKS INTO HOME: Fremont police are seeking a woman they say burglarized a home after being spotted on surveillance video pushing a baby stroller.

The break-in happened about 1 a.m. Dec. 16 at a home on the 2000 block of Dorne Place, off Paseo Padre Parkway.

Surveillance video shows the woman pushing a stroller up to the home before walking up the driveway. The woman entered the home through an unlocked front door and wandered throughout the residence until 1:35 a.m., when she left with the victim's purse.

The burglar is described as 30 to 40 years old, with thin, dark hair in a straggly short ponytail, wearing a white hip-length jacket, loose pants and tennis shoes with reflective patches.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Fremont police Detective Heidi Kindorf at (510) 790-6956 or by e-mail at Hkindorf@fremont.gov.

DISGRUNTLED WORKER SETS FIRE AT EX-BOSS' HOME: Palo Alto police say they've nabbed a man who set fire to his ex-supervisor's home while the victim and his family were inside.

Muhammad Hassan Khan, 26, set fire to a home on the 3400 block of Kenneth Drive about 6 a.m. Saturday.

Khan's former boss, his wife and a teenager were sleeping when they were awakened by the sound of a smoke detector in their attached garage, police said.

They saw smoke in the garage, and when the woman tried to open the garage door, she burned her hand, authorities said.

The man went outside and realized that the exterior part of his garage and his driveway were on fire. He doused the blaze with a garden hose.

Palo Alto police arrested Khan the next day and confirmed that he was a "disgruntled former employee" of the male victim, police said.

Santa Clara County prosecutors have charged Khan with arson of an inhabited dwelling and an enhancement for allegedly using an accelerant.

L.A. PUBLIC DEFENDER NOT GUILTY IN AIRPORT CAPER: A Los Angeles deputy public defender accused of creating a scene at San Francisco International Airport has been acquitted of some of the charges against her, authorities said today.

Monica Marie Jenkins, 39, was found not guilty Tuesday by a San Mateo County Superior Court jury of  misdemeanor charges of battery on a police officer, assault on a police officer and being drunk in public. The panel deadlocked, however, on charges of resisting arrest and assault on a jail nurse.

Authorities have said that Jenkins screamed at officers and assaulted them, singing the “Happy Days” theme song and asking for cocaine.

On March 18, 2014, Jenkins was at SFO preparing to board a flight to Los Angeles but authorities believed she was too drunk and barred her from getting on the plane, authorities said. Officers said she was belligerent and refused suggestions that she sober up and catch a later flight, instead demanding that she be taken to jail.

She allegedly also screamed profanities, threatened to sue the officers and began singing, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5 o’clock rock” from “Happy Days," investigators said. In an e-mail Thursday, however, Jenkins wrote, "I will tell you that not a single witness testified at trial that I broke out singing "1, 2, 3, 4, 5 o'clock rock" as DA Wagstaffe represented. Not a single one."

During her arrest on suspicion of being drunk in public, Jenkins allegedly kicked an officer, tried to kick a second officer and screamed more profanities. Once in the patrol car, her mood changed, investigators said.

She told officers, "Thank you for saving me," "Where’s my purse, it’s worth a lot of money," and "I’m not worrying anymore, give me some cocaine," according to investigators. She then became angry again and, while being booked at San Mateo County Jail, tried to bite a nurse, authorities said.

Jenkins has been an attorney since 2007 after graduating from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco.
