Conduction violations
What they're saying:
The school announced on Tuesday that it is suspending its varsity baseball team for the first five games of the season due to violations of school policy, team rules and the code of conduct, which was first reported by the East Bay Times.
The school did not specify the violations but told KTVU they involved De La Salle’s internal conduct codes.

De La Salle High School in Concord cancels first baseball games for conduct violations.
Katherine Fordon, the school’s communications director, said in a statement to KTVU that each of the five games could result in forfeits. She said the team will also participate in "reflective and restorative" activities.
"The goal of this action is not solely disciplinary, but formative to ensure that students grow in character and responsibility as representatives of De La Salle High School," the school's statement said.
The statement continued: "De La Salle High School holds its students and student-athletes to the highest standards of conduct. "Participation in athletics is a privilege that carries significant responsibility to teammates, coaches, opponents, and the broader school community. When those standards are not met, appropriate and meaningful consequences are necessary."

De La Salle’s baseball program is considered a longtime powerhouse, with championship teams dating back decades. The Spartans won the 2025 Northern California Division I championship and claimed top divisions in both the North Coast Section and NorCal playoffs last season.
It remains unclear how many games during the suspension period will be rescheduled or officially forfeited.
The team was scheduled to play St. Ignatius High School on Wednesday. The St. Ignatius coach said he was notified Monday about the cancellation and was awarded a win by forfeit.
Some parents said they had not received notice or details from the school.
Students alleged there was an incident involving another student who was hospitalized but has since returned to school.
Fordon declined to confirm whether a hospitalization occurred or provide details about the violations. She also declined to provide a copy of the school’s code of conduct.
CIF commissioner unaware of situation
Dig deeper:
California Interscholastic Federation North Coast Section Commissioner Pat Cruickshank said he had not heard from De La Salle about the suspension.
"We have standards that we want to hold our student athletes to. We have expectations for them," Cruickshank said. "For us to have them in writing and for our schools to have their own expectations in writing, it is really important for their families to know what's expected when they participate in sports.
Cruickshank said with 173 schools in the section, compliance is largely left to individual schools.
"We do rely on our schools on the honor system to make sure they are upholding our bylaws," Cruickshank said. "I'm not sure how this will impact De La Salle at this point. I'm sure we will be in communication with them shortly."
