Evacuation order along Guadalupe River lifted

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - An evacuation order along the Guadalupe River in San Jose was lifted, after officials had been going door to door earlier Thursday morning telling people to leave their homes.

The order was lifted about 7 a.m.

Three hours earlier, the National Weather Service issued an emergency flood warning. Santa Clara County officials had ent an email alert just before 4:30 a.m. saying that they were encouraging those who llive by the river from Willow Glen Way to Atlanta Avenue to evacuate immediately due to threat of flooding. 

Police and city crews had told people to get out and find a safe alternative to stay. San Jose has a designated evacuation center at Willow Glen Community Center, 2175 Lincoln Avenue.
