Not only did Riley Morrison, 9, of Napa get two new pair of Curry sneakers and an invite to a Warriors game, she also got to design the latest Curry 6’s with the words "Girl Power" and "Girls Hoop Too" on the bottom of the purple basketball shoes.

Riley's brush with stardom came earlier this year when she wrote a letter to Warrior’s star Steph Curry, voicing her frustration that she couldn’t find any of his Under Armour basketball sneakers in girls’ sizes.

The letter got picked up on social media, and Curry ended up responding on Twitter, apologizing and telling her he would fix it immediately.

Since November, Curry did more than just tweet. He sent Riley two new pair of sneakers and promised that he'd honor her at a Warriors game for International Womens' Day. He delivered on all those promises. Riley has become a star in her own right, inspiring others to speak up for what they want and need. On Friday, she and her family will be at the Warriors game against the Denver Nuggets at the Oakland Coliseum.

Her dad, Chris Morrison, said that she didn't get paid for her work, but that the "experience alone has been priceless." He added that some of the proceeds from the sale of the shoes will go toward a scholarship to the Stephen and Ayesha Curry Family Foundation that Under Armour will give to a high school senior in Riley's name each year. The $30,000 scholarship will go to a worthy college-bound female student from the Bay Area who has shown an aptitude for overcoming adversity, catalyzing change within their community, and demonstrating excellence in a STEM-related field of study.

"I"m really happy that I wrote that letter," Riley says on a video produced by Under Armour. "And I'm really happy you wrote back."
