New videos released of suspect car in Campbell attempted abduction

CAMPBELL, Calif. (KTVU and wires) -- Police released two new videos Monday afternoon of a suspect's car in the attempted abduction of a young Campbell girl Saturday morning.

Along with the new surveillance videos, recorded just prior to the 10 a.m. abduction attempt, Campbell police provided an updated description of the suspect's car as a silver or beige 1998-2002 Honda Accord.

Police also provided a sketch of the suspect himself and described him as an Asian or Hispanic man in his mid-30s standing approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black and white beanie and a tan or brown long coat with fur on the cuffs. The coat was buttoned up, police said.

Police said he pulled up next to a pre-teen girl walking her dog near the intersection of Maysun Court and Harriet Avenue and asked for directions.

He got out of his car and approached the girl, still asking for directions, but then grabbed the girl in a bear hug. The girl screamed and fought him off and he got back into his car and drove away.

A witness heard the girl's cries and saw the suspect fleeing north on Harriet Avenue, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call (408) 871-5190 or to leave an anonymous message with the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-STOP (7867).
