Oakland High's lady Wildcats win state basketball championship

OAKLAND, Calif. (BCN) -  By Bay City News Service

The Oakland High School Wildcats won the state girls Division III basketball championship Friday, Oakland school district officials said. 

The Oakland girls beat the McFarland High School Cougars 51-35 in a game at 2 p.m. at the Golden1Center in Sacramento. 

Oakland beat the Union Mine High School Diamondbacks from El Dorado by 11 points on Tuesday to advance to Friday's final.
