Oakland man charged in murder of father, attempted murder of sister

Aaron Clark, 38, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Saturday on suspicion of killing his 80-year-old father Ernest Clark Jr. and the attempted murder of his sister.
OAKLAND (BCN) An Oakland man was charged today with the murder of his father and the attempted murder of his sister at his father's home on Friday night, according to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.
Aaron Clark, 38, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Saturday on suspicion of killing his 80-year-old father Ernest Clark Jr. and the attempted murder of his sister.
At 11:38 p.m. police went to Ernest's home in the 6000 block of Margarido Drive where the alleged killing took place.
In a probable cause statement, Aaron's sister told police that she saw her father in his bedroom bleeding profusely and unresponsive and she saw Aaron with a gun.
The statement alleges that Aaron pushed Maya down some steps and began to hit and pistol-whip her.
Afterwards, Aaron allegedly left the home.
According to court documents, the sister was taken to a hospital to be treated for a large cut on her head and a loss of blood.
In the probable cause statement, she identified her brother Aaron as the suspect in the attack on her and in the eventual death of her father, who was pronounced dead at his home by medics with the Oakland Fire
Department.
Courts documents said that Aaron appeared to have small scratches on both hands when police arrested him.
He is being held in the county jail without the possibility of bail.
According to the complaint, Aaron faces prison time if he is convicted of some or all of the charges.
