Petaluma camera thieves wanted
(KTVU) - Here's KTVU crime reporter Henry Lee's Rap Sheet blog for Sept. 13, 2016:
SHUTTERBUG SCOFFLAWS SOUGHT: Petaluma police are searching for three men who stole camera kits worth $8,000 from a store.
The three walked into the Shutterbug Camera shop on Petaluma Boulevard North about 12:25 p.m. Monday.
They left the store about a half-hour later without paying for three cameras: a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV EF 24-70 f/4L IS USM camera kit worth about $4,400, a Nikon D500 16-80 VR camera kit worth $3070 and a Canon EOS 80D EF-s 15-55 IS STM camera kit worth $1,350.
Anyone with information can text "TIP PETPD" followed by a message, to 888777.
SAN LEANDRO COPS GET ARMORED VEHICLE: The San Leandro Police Department has taken delivery of a BearCat armored rescue vehicle that has been the subject of controversy.
The vehicle will be used by partnering agencies besides San Leandro police to "effectively transport victims and first responders safely away from danger during times of emergency," said San Leandro Police Chief Jeff Tudor.
The City Council last year accepted a state grant to buy the vehicle. No San Leandro city funds were used, although the city of Fremont contributed, authorities said.
PORCH PIRATE SOUGHT: Campbell police are hoping the public can help identify a package thief.
The man was spotted on surveillance video walking to the front of a home on Lenor Way about 1:20 p.m. Aug. 28. He then walks away with a package that had been delivered several hours earlier.
Anyone with information is asked to call Campbell police at (408) 871-5190.
