Rohnert Park church serves up 3 meals a day for fire victims, emergency crews

A North Bay church is preparing to feed fire victims and first responders breakfast, lunch and dinner.

First Spanish Baptist Church in Rohnert Park will be feeding them every day until November 6th.

The church began offering three meals a day on October 16, a week after the wildfires broke out.

The church is trying to feed as many first responders, fire evacuees, and anyone else who lost their home due to the fires.

Breakfast is served from 8:30 to 10 a.m. with lunch from noon to 2 p.m. and dinner from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

There is also a building full of toiletries, blankets, and baby supplies. There is a Go Fund Me site set up to help with donations.

They've partnered with a local food bank but say the propane used for cooking alone costs several hundred dollars a day.

They also have to purchase all of the meat and other items.

The soup kitchen is estimated to cost more than a thousand dollars a day to operate .

The goal is to serve 21,000 people in 30 days. Starting November 6th the soup kitchen will cut back to just serving dinner.
