SFO flight delayed after reports of threat
SAN FRANCISCO - A United Airlines flight heading from San Francisco to Boston Friday morning was delayed because of a reported threat.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was aboard that flight.
According to Fox 25, a passenger made a threat which led to all of the passengers being taken off the plane and searched.
San Francisco International Airport spokesman Doug Yakel confirmed that United Airlines flight 1108 was on the runway when it had to return to the gate to remove a passenger.
Governor Christie's office released a statement saying, "Governor Christie, an aide and a member of his security detail were traveling on a United flight from San Francisco to Boston this morning when a passenger was removed from the plane before takeoff at the request of United Airlines. At no point did Governor Christie interact with this passenger nor did this passenger pose a verbal or physical threat to the Governor. Any other inquiries about this matter should be directed to United Airlines."
Jonathan Guerin, a spokesman for United Airlines said, "United Airlines is working to accommodate customers of flight 1108 to Boston after the flight was delayed in San Francisco due to a disruptive customer on board. The flight will depart this afternoon."
