Woman arrested after entering ocean off Half Moon Bay coast with baby

A 36-year-old Cupertino woman was arrested for attempted murder after entering the ocean in Half Moon Bay with an infant. 

San Mateo County Sheriff's Deputies received a call about a possibly suicidal woman who was acting strangely as she walked into the ocean at Poplar Beach with a baby around 3:10 p.m. Tuesday.

When deputies arrived both the baby and the woman were soaking wet. The woman and baby were treated for hypothermia and were taken to the hospital. 

The baby was treated and released to Child Protective Services.
