Out of an abundance of caution, the water at Gray Whale Cove State Beach and Montara State Beach to the south will be off-limits until further notice.

The San Mateo County Sheriff says a man swimming in the waters off of Grey Whale Cove State Beach was bitten by a great white shark Saturday morning. First responders say the 35-year-old victim is in serious condition.
The San Jose Sharks are the only pro sports team currently not allowed to play at home.
The Shark Lab at California State University, Long Beach, tagged 38 sharks, which is more than triple the number tagged tag last year.

On Tuesday, California State Parks, the California Department Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) and Long Beach State University’s Shark Lab revealed the new details into Ben Kelly's death.
As a safety precaution, authorities closed the water 1 mile north and south of the attack until Thursday. Signs have been posted warning beachgoers about the attack.
California State Parks has since closed Manresa State Beach.

Officials say the victim, who has not been formally identified, was surfing at the time and was declared dead at the scene.
