Eight police officers were shot, leaving four dead, during a confrontation with a wanted felon at a suburban Charlotte home, officials said. The suspect was also killed.

Kaiser Permanente says more than 13.4 million members may have had their personal data exposed to third-party vendors and will receive a notification if their information may have been leaked. The Oakland-based healthcare provided says online tools that were installed on its websites and mobile apps were involved in the leaks and the information may have been transmitted to Google, Microsoft or X. A new survey found Americans feel they need to make an average of almost half a million dollars a year to be considered “rich," and here in the Bay Area, the threshold to feel wealthy was estimated to be hundreds of thousands of dollars higher.
