49ers’ Tight End Jake Tonges has local roots. He was born in Cincinnati, but his family moved to Los Gatos, where he attended high school. Tonges was a two-sport athlete at Los Gatos, playing football and basketball. He had to battle both at Cal Berkeley, where he went to college, and in the NFL to get on the field. As you can imagine, after grabbing a game-winning touchdown catch versus Seattle in Week 1 of the season, he and his family members were suddenly very popular. Joe sits down 1-on-1 with Tonges.

It’s been a battle to get there for 49er Linebacker and Special Teams standout, Luke Gifford. Entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent, Gifford signed with the 49ers in march, after four season in Dallas and two in Tennessee. Joe Fonzi gets to know Luke Gifford.

Separated from his mother, Okuayinonu made it to the East Coast of the United States, where he began to carve out an entirely new and foreign life. Joe Fonzi has his life story and football story.

This year’s event was, as usual, representative of multiple generations, enjoying a weekend to reminisce. Former 49ers like Jerry Rice, Sean Simmons, Lawrence Pillers, Dwaine Board, Joe Nedney, Tim McKyer, Keena Turner, and more!
