Pacific Gas and Electric Co. is warning residents to get ready for more power shutoffs to prevent another wildfire catastrophe. But the warning comes amid concurrent disasters already plaguing California.

The dueling events just seven weeks before Election Day mark a stark moment on the campaign trail, with the two candidates having dramatically contrasting outlooks on climate change.

Cal Fire officials announced Sunday morning the blaze is 98 percent contained.

Two clean air centers opened this weekend in San Jose to provide relief from poor air quality blanketing the region due to wildfire smoke, city officials said Saturday.

(BCN) -- Smoke will continue to impact the Bay Area Saturday, with widespread haze expected through Sunday afternoon at least, according to the National Weather Service.

Outdoor dining, long walks, bike rides and other activities should be avoided while smoke permeates the Bay Area, according to medical experts.

“I have no patience for climate-change deniers. It’s inconsistent with the reality on the ground, the facts," he said. Later adding, "If you do not believe in science, I hope you believe in observed evidence."

Day after day of awful air quality is taking its toll. The Bay Area has called Spare the Air alerts through Monday, which will be a record 28th consecutive day.
