2-alarm breaks out at abandoned Oakland building

Oakland firefighters raced to put out a two-alarm fire at an abandoned building, which had been red-tagged at the end of August.

The fire was reported about 9:30 a.m. at 1899 Dennison Street, between Coast Guard Island and Union Point Park.

Video posted to Twitter by the fire department showed roaring flames leaping through the boarded up structure. The burning building appeared to be two-stories tall.
