Portion of Highway 9 closed in Los Gatos after gas line ruptures

Santa Clara County Fire Department tweeted about the incident at 10:59 a.m. Friday.

LOS GATOS, Calif. - Fire crews and police responded to the scene of a gas line rupture in Santa Clara Los Gatos Friday morning.

The gas line broke near the intersection of Los Gatos Boulevard and Los Gatos-Saratoga Road.

Fire officials called for the closure of Highway 9 between Los Gatos Boulevard and Alberto Way.

There's no word how long the closure will last, or what caused the pipeline to rupture.
