Crash details

What we know:

The incident occurred at a townhome complex off Canoas Garden Avenue around 4:23 p.m.

According to police, a taxi cab driver was traveling forward in the driveway of the complex when it struck the 18-month-old boy, who was walking in front of his home. The driver remained at the scene following the collision.

Officer Stacie Shih said investigators are still working to determine the circumstances of the crash, including why the taxi was in the complex and whether the driver was attempting to pick up a passenger.
